What's strange in life I hear you cry. Well just about anything and everything. Here are some of the mind boggling TRUE facts I've come across over the years. Have a read and you'll see that the world is completely bonkers!!.

The percentage of Americans who have visited Disneyland/Disney World is 70%. Iceland consumes more Coca-Cola per capita than any other nation. A duck's quack doesn't echo, and no one knows why. The only 15 letter word that can be spelled without repeating a letter is uncopyrightable. The Main Library at Indiana University sinks over an inch every year because when it was built, engineers failed to take into account the weight of all the books that would occupy the building. Each king in a deck of playing cards represents a great king from history. Spades - King David, Clubs - Alexander the Great, Hearts - Charlemagne, and Diamonds - Julius Caesar. The name Jeep came from the abbreviation used in the army for the "General Purpose" vehicle, G.P. Canada is an Indian word meaning "Big Village". The word "samba" means "to rub navels together." Until 1965, driving was done on the left-hand side on roads in Sweden. The conversion to right-hand was done on a weekday at 5pm. All traffic stopped as people switched sides. This time and day were chosen to prevent accidents where drivers would have gotten up in the morning and been too sleepy to realize that *this* was the day of the changeover.

The very first bomb dropped by the Allies on Berlin during World War II killed the only elephant in the Berlin Zoo. In Casablanca, Humphrey Bogart never said "Play it again, Sam." Sherlock Holmes never said "Elementary, my dear Watson." More people are killed annually by donkeys than die in air crashes. The frog throws up its stomach first, so the stomach is dangling out of its mouth. Then the frog uses its forearms to dig out all of the stomach's contents and then swallows the stomach back down again. Horses are unable to throw up. That makes them very vulnerable to food poisoning. Sylvia Miles had the shortest performance ever nominated for an Oscar, in "Midnight Cowboy." Her entire role lasted only six minutes.

In California, community leaders passed an ordinance that makes it illegal for anyone to try and stop a child from playfully jumping over puddles of water. In Florida, If an elephant is left tied to a parking meter, the parking fee has to be paid just as it would for a vehicle. It is illegal to put ice cream on cherry pie in Kansas. In Massachusetts, an old ordinance declares goatees illegal unless you first pay a special license fee for the privilege of wearing one in public. Pennsylvania, a special cleaning ordinance bans housewives from hiding dirt and dust under a rug in a dwelling. In Washington, a law to reduce crime states: "It is mandatory for a motorist with criminal intentions to stop at the city limits and telephone the chief of police as he is entering the town". In Texas, it is legal to commit a homicide as long as you tell the person when, and how you are going to kill them. New Mexico, females are strictly forbidden to appear unshaven in public. In Maine, you may not step out of a plane in flight. In South Bend, Indiana, it is illegal to make a monkey smoke a cigarette. In Hawaii you will be fined if you do not own a boat. In Florida, men may not be seen publicly in any kind of strapless gown. Connecticut, you can be stopped by the police for biking over 65 miles per hour. In California, it is illegal to eat an orange in your bath tub.
